| The Z-Vibe is a vibrating tool for oral-motor stimulation and sensory input, designed by a speech-language pathologist. The gentle vibrations stimulate the gums, palate, and tongue. It can also be used outside the mouth on the cheeks and lips. The handle is made of aluminum; the tips are made of sturdy, medical grade plastic that is FDA approved and contains no latex. The tips screw into the handle and can be easily changed or replaced. The battery can also be replaced. The Z-Vibe comes with a Probe tip that has a different textured surface on each of its two sides. Other tips are sold separately: the Preefer Tip has a round end that is good for use when a rolling action is desired. The Mini Tip is used for smaller mouths. Use the Spoon Tips to provide oral stimulation during feeding. The Z-Vibe handle is approx. 3.5" long. The Z-Vibe takes a special battery which is not readily available in stores.
